INITIATION INVOLVES TAKING THE IBOGA MEDICINE
“To initiate into the Bwiti is to have two feet in the tradition; a full commitment to truth, living the truth, loving life, knowing yourself, opening your senses, connecting with spirit, communicating with your soul, listening to your inner guide.
Bwiti is a spiritual philosophy of introspection and self-discovery, not a religion. Journeyers to Gabon will experience an authentic initiation, serving to help break through into an uncharted new phase of life and shed aspects of what no longer serves them. Participants report that this experience marks the beginning of a huge shift in their lives.
HOW TO PREPARE
TRAVEL DETAILS
- Complete screening with me
- Valid passport
- Request Gabonese Visitor’s Visa from your embassy
- Purchase round-trip airfare to Gabon’s Libreville International Airport (LBV)
- Schedule vaccination for Yellow Fever (required for admittance into Gabon)
What to bring
- Bug spray/natural repellent (Lavender essential oil)
- Unscented soaps and toiletries
- Un-perishable Snacks (nuts, crackers, bars, protein powders)
- Flip-flops/crocs
- Hat with a brim
- Closed-toe hiking shoes
- Cotton Socks
- Swimsuit and towel
- Sunscreen
- Long-sleeved shirts and pants
- Shorts, T-shirts, sarong
- Women need a red bra or sports top for initiation (must be red)
- Camera/cell phone (there is no service in the jungle)
- Journal and pen
- Headlamp
